Diode and transistor are so small that their silk screen printing and year are usually marked with codes, making them difficult to decipher.
Today, I will share two silk screen code deciphering tables from the United States and Taiwan, as well as the naming rules for two-terminal and three-terminal transistors.
Whether you are a buyer or an engineer, understanding these can be very helpful for your work.
1N5819HW-7-F
This table is mainly for SOD123 packaging. Each letter in this table represents different years and months. Take the 1N5819HW-7-F model as an example, SL is its product type,
which is screen printing.
Encapsulate SOD-123
YM= Date code marker
Y corresponds to 2011 in the table, which means the product is 2011. Y= Year (e.g. B = 2014)
M, in fact, is the position of the month, which is more intuitive to use directly in numbers. For example, if it's sep, it means September. However, it should be noted that October,
November and December are represented by letters instead.M= month (e.g., 9 = September)
AP331AWG-7
Encapsulate SOT-25-5
XX=Identification code
W= week: A~Z: 1~26 weeks; A~z: 27~52 weeks; z represents 52 weeks and 53 weeks
X:A~Z: green
Next, let's talk about the SOT-25-5 package of DIODES. How should we look at its silk screen printing? Let's take this model as an example. AP331AWG-7, the first two digits are its
model identification code. The third digit is the year, 0~9, here the three digits represent 2023. The fourth code Z represents its cycle, where Z stands for week 52 and week 53. So his
year should be 2352+ or 2353+, the last letter D, which is indicated in green, might also mean environmental protection.
Naming rule
The naming of diodes actually consists of five modules. The main title material and polarity, the type of tube, the product number and specification.
Due to the naming rules of diodes, there is no complete data to refer to. So here, I have collected a lot of diode naming rules and put them into a table, hoping to help you.
